Join our most popular volunteer adventure, the "Wildlife Wanderer" and explore two national parks, the Hluhluwe/Imfolozi park and the Isimangaliso wetland park. You will be overwhelmed by all the animals and breathtaking scenery.

The Hluhluwe/Imfolozi park is one of the oldest parks in Africa, established in 1895. The park itself covers an area of 96000 hectres and ranges from 40 meters above sea level up to 500 meters which provides one with some of the most beautiful lanscapes and scenery.

Hluhluwe/Imfolozi is world renowned for its rhino conservation efforts and it was here that they perfected a method of darting and re-locating rhino to other parks in Africa so that new breeding populations could start, today Hluhluwe/Imfolozi has the highest concentration of rhino per square kilometer than any other park in the world.

Besides rhino, the park is home to the rest of the Big 5 animals: lion, leopard, elephant and buffalo plus cheetah, hyeana, wild dog, giraffe, zebra and a whole lot more.

The Isimangaliso wetland park was South Africa's first designated world heritage site, this is because of its bio-diversity. Eco-systems within the park include Southern Africa's most southern coral reefs, second highest vegetated sand dunes in the world and the largest salt water estuarine system in Africa.

This park is one of the only places in the world where you can spot the largest marine mammal: the whale and the largest land mammal: the elephant from a single vantage point. You will have the opportunity to enjoy this park on foot, on a tour and by boat
